TransparentSea is seeking an experienced RAS Shrimp Farm Manager for its commercial vannamei shrimp operation east of San Diego. The role will help build and oversee hatchery, grow-out and production operations.
Seeking a vannamei shrimp Farm Manager for our first commercial project 50 miles east of San Diego.
More than a particular list of qualifications, we value passionate team members who have experience in aquaculture and working on small to medium-sized teams. We have figured out how to grow and sell the product and are looking for an organised and ambitious professional to help build and oversee a hatchery, grow-out and production facility.
What we’re looking for
- Hands-on problem solver focused on production, with a hint of R&D rather than the other way around
- Legal resident of the US or a concrete plan to legally work in the US
- Experience with shrimp, preferably hatchery and/or broodstock experience
- Aquaculture management experience
- Interested in living on a 160-acre ranch near San Diego
- English reading, writing and working skills
- Someone who wants the opportunity to grow with the company
Compensation

Requirements
- Some education in aquaculture
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred, but not essential
- 3+ years of aquaculture management experience
- 2+ years of vannamei shrimp production experience
- Computer skills including Excel, Word, Dropbox, email, scheduling applications, project management software and monitoring/control systems
- Hands-on ability and willingness to troubleshoot farming equipment
- Open-minded approach to learning new things
