Two sides of the same network

Businesses find the expertise they need, and consultants find the work they do best.

Who we're looking for

We work with independent consultants and specialist firms across aquaculture and the wider blue economy, from aquatic veterinarians and biosecurity specialists to RAS engineers, facility designers, compliance auditors, feed nutritionists, sensor and camera specialists and site security providers. Experience matters more than company size, and we welcome sole practitioners.

How you get work

Farmers, hatcheries and businesses come to AquaNetica with real problems. When someone needs professional help, we match them to a specialist in the network and they book your time directly. You keep control of your rates, your availability and how you work.

Frequently asked questions

Is it free to join the AquaNetica consultant network?

Yes. Applying and being listed is free. AquaNetica takes a commission only when a client books and pays for your time through the platform.

Do I need professional indemnity insurance?

Consultants taking paid engagements through AquaNetica are expected to hold professional indemnity insurance. If you don't hold it yet, you can still apply, tell us you're willing to obtain it.

What qualifications do I need to be an aquaculture consultant?

There is no single required qualification. Most consultants hold a relevant degree in aquaculture, veterinary science, marine biology or engineering, plus several years of hands-on industry experience. We verify credentials and references before listing.

How do consultants in the network get paid?

Clients book and pay through AquaNetica. You receive your fee less the platform commission, which is set out in your consultant agreement before you're listed.

Can I offer equipment servicing rather than consulting?

Yes. Technicians and service providers working on pumps, UV systems, filters, oxygen equipment and controls can join the network under Equipment Service & Technical Support.

Can consultants apply from other countries?

Yes. AquaNetica is a global network and much consulting work is done remotely. Tell us your region and we'll match you to relevant clients.
